LED Strip

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. Diodes are a semiconductor device that will conduct electricity in only one direction.LED Rope Light is made up of layers of silicon and seeded with atoms of phosphorus, germanium, arsenic or other rare-earth elements. The layers of the device are called the die and the junction between the materials is where the light is generated. Different materials and designs have different colored lights and intensities.LED Rope Light are now bright enough to be considered for applications that traditionally used incandescent bulbs.
Technical advances have dramatically improved the reliability and the performance of Flexible LED Rope Light since they were invented in the 1960s. The lifetime for the new generation of LED Rope Light is about 100,000 hours of use, or 30 to 40 years of normal operation. As Flexible LED Rope Light  are a semiconductor device, they are also very rugged and are not subject to fail when dropped or vibrated as are incandescent or fluorescent lights.
The original LED Rope Light only emitted light of one frequency or color of light. These were blues, greens, yellows, oranges or reds and they were unsuited for domestic lighting. Recent innovations in materials, doping and die structure have developed high brightness LED Rope Light that emit light in all visible frequencies to produce white light. With spectrum lighting working on new technology with LED, we now can provide the same output in light as incandescent or fluorescent light.
Today six types of LED Rope Light are developed, they are Ribbon, Crystal, Silicone cased, Dropper, Neon (Side emitting strip), and Smart.
Ribbon Series are regular LED Rope Light . SMD LEDs are mounted directly on the surface of the flexible PCB (Printed Circuit Board), with 3M tape on the back, easy installation for indoor use.
Crystal Series: High IP standard, plastic cover and sealed with silicone and PU, PVC and epoxy inside. They are widely used outdoor and under water.
Silicone cased series are LED Rope Light encapsulated with a Silicone (or PVC) jacket. It can reach water-proof class IP64. They are easy to access solder points to rejoin.
Widely used indoor and outdoor. They can be used in very low temperature.
Dropper Series are LED Rope Light dropped with a plastic gel to get water resistant coat on the surface, widely used indoor and outdoor.
Neon series are side emitting strips, very flexible, easily to be bent into vertical directions of light. They are widely used for making patterns letters and replacing Neon.
Smart Series are smart strips, with smart IC on the PCB receiving signal from smart controller. LED Rope Light can get more effection such as flow, scan, color change etc. The smart controller can provide more than 80 modes.
